Award/Recognition Descriptions -- Augmentations of Arms
"My Awards Go Jingle, Jangle, Jingle ..." -- Master Gerhardt von Nordflammen
Augmentations are given at the discretion of the Crown, for whatever reason the Crown may so desire. They are an addition to the Arms of the recipient, the form of which is (usually) determined by the Crown and the College of Arms. Recipients of an Augmentation of Arms shall also receive an Award of Arms if the recipient is not already armigerous.
The individual receiving this recognition may bear an augmentation TO their arms, and may even register their arms with the augmentation. In some cases, the royalty may specify what they believe the recipient should bear for the augmentation. If from out of Kingdom, an award, such as the Atlantian Award of the Vexillum Atlantiae may have a specific augmentation badge for the recognition.
