Award/Recognition Descriptions -- The Order of the Silver Ulu
"My Awards Go Jingle, Jangle, Jingle ..." -- Master Gerhardt von Nordflammen
This is given to commend outstanding cooks in Oertha. The token of the order is a small silver ulu pendant hung from a ribbon (an ulu is a very sharp, curved blade, shaped like a very wide U with a central handle, used by native Alaskan tribes in flaying and preparing animals and fish for cooking and preserving).
Found in the August, 1981 issue of The Eskalya Chronicle, the name of the recognition eventually became what it is today, listed as "Order of the Wooden Spoon (Name Change Imperative)." The reason it was imperative is that is the name of the West Kingdom cooking recognition.
