Award/Recognition Descriptions -- The Silver Ivy
"My Awards Go Jingle, Jangle, Jingle ..." -- Master Gerhardt von Nordflammen
The contender and consort who achieve the final round of the Coronet List but do not prevail shall receive the Silver Ivy. The tokens for this award are a pair of hand-cut pendants: for the finalist, a piercework medallion with an ivy leaf cut out, and for the consort, an ivy leaf from inside the finalist’s medallion, strung from ribbons.
Historical Note: The finalist who didn't win the tournament and their consort were named The Champion of the Mists and the Champion's Consort. This recognition was a separate thing, with baldrics worn during the reign, and then when the Silver Ivy was instituted, at the END of the reign the recipients were named members of the Order of the Silver Ivy. The Champion of the Mists and the Champion's Consort were not tracked in the Awards List, most likely because they received the Silver Ivy at the end of the reign.
In April, 2013, Prince Bjarnheðinn & Princess Dýrfinna changed this to the Silver Ivy being given at the tournament the recipients made it to the final round in, and the baldrics were retired. The position of Champion of the Mists was re-instituted by Da'ud and Moira in March of 2022 as something very different.
(There is a pattern of the original design on the West Kingdom History site, if you go to "Award History" and find this recognition, it will be in the 'attachments' for it...)

Silver Ivy Tokens
The large piece is for the fighter, the leaf is for the consort ... this side-by-side view is to show that the leaf is theoretically supposed to fit inside the larger piece. In reality, it's close, but not quite ... these were made by Hirsch von Henford, March, 2025. However, the original pattern was by Hirsch's wife Aldith Angharad St. George, and is the pattern that was used back when this recognition was created.
