COLLEGE OF HERALDS MEETINGS

The January meeting was held in person at West Kingdom Twelfth Night. All future meetings will be held via online conference with the exception of Twelfth Night which will be held in-person only, until Vesper announces otherwise.

Herald’s Meetings for 2025: March 2, May 18, July 13, September 21, and November 16. Meetings usually begin at 11:00 AM and will be held via online/remote teleconference until further notice.

The DEADLINES for submission forms and documentation are: February 19, May 7, July 2, September 10, and November 5.

Submission forms must be complete and received either via EMAIL or hardcopy by the deadline date at midnight to be considered at the next meeting (which is about 11 days later, except December due to holidays and the roadshow meeting prep time needed). If the forms are EMAILED, then payment must arrive by the meeting day. WALK-IN submissions will not be accepted while meetings are held via remote conference.

REPORTS

Vesper (Damir): Coronation was successful. The College is still working on electronic payment for submissions. He is also working with the Scribal Community putting together the Royal signature archive. At the next Kingdom officers meeting, he will be asking for some infrastructure upgrades, including some un-obtrusive lighting for the Royal pavilion and possibly rubber standing mats.

Seawolf (Moira): Investiture was held on November 16, 2024. Things went very well considering Her Highness Hannah was forced to attend "virtually" due to COVID. Variance was obtained from the Board to allow for the "virtual" attendance, and ensure the reign remained valid. Many thanks to Viscountess Gillian Trenowyth, Lady Elewys Gwynne, and Lord Moss of Little Marsden for heralding, and to Lady Faun Woods for providing the technology and tending the "virtual" Hannah.

Sable Swan (Victoria): Except that Investiture is coming up and lots of heraldic help will be needed. There are some needed Ceremony revisions in the queue.

Sable Swan is seeking a successor.

Stellanordica (Catriona), Successor (Anne): Events are happening, and Catriona thinks reports are being submitted and confirmed in a timely manner (and thanks to Hirsch for all the review and feedback on reports!)

In Oertha, Anne FitzRichard will be her successor as Stellanordica - once they handle some other officer-ship shuffles and training. Details still TBD! The next Principality event will be Coronet later in January.

Their Highnesses have been attending events and giving awards. Their Majesties Thorfin and Tullia visited for Bi-Baronial Yule (and gave awards, but TH did not give any at that event.)

**In Eskalya, Skye Ó Dubhda (aka Scath Ros, or Stacye of Eskalya, mka Stacye Westerlin-Robertson) has been working hard in her new role.

**In Selviergard, Ceara inghean ui Beirichtir is mentoring Freya of Selviergard in the position (as Freya is underage).

**In Winter's Gate, Elena is taking it over officially, they will have a regnum change in soon.

Training will be offered where needed.

Exchequer (Moira): The College remains solvent. Our pre-paid account with the Society College of Arms is fully-funded and in good standing.

Matins (Edith): The rush of heraldic submissions from Kean and Hannah’s reign and the heraldic challenge they issued has passed. This month the Kingdom almost had no submissions to process. To all the Heralds of the West: please make sure you continue to discuss and support our populace in the quest for registration of heraldry. If you are not qualified to consult in a specific situation, please reach out to the College for assistance or connect individuals directly.

Baldric (training deputy): Vesper is running training as a College-wide program, not assigned to a specific individual at this time.

Brachet (vacant), Leveret (Ræv).

Green Cloak (Alizan): Green Cloak is looking for a successor. The College is allowing that a successor does not need to transport and setup Heralds Point so long as they have a pavillion of their own and will set up their pavillion to allow for use by the Heralds.

Green Crown (Eilis): Many long courts happened. New ceremonies were put in place. New laws were read into place to update ceremonies. There is one more ceremony pending and then the Books will be re-printed.

Green Trumpet (Gwenhwyfaer): Nothing to report.

Green Banner (Aasa): She has not taken the Table to an event since the last meeting, but is regularly traveling with the Table. If you would like to request the Table at a specific event, please reach out to Aasa in advance to discuss scheduling and she will make every effort. She has been doing a lot of consultation online through a variety of mediums.

Golem (Hirsch): Lots of Court Reports have come through and been processed. Unfortunately the Cynaguan reports took some effort on the part of Golem, as they hadn’t been submitted. Luckily the Princess had a spreadsheet with a listing of awards given that hadn’t been reported yet, and Golem generated the court reports himself, which Her Highness quickly confirmed, and all appears to be caught up. It would be helpful if the Principality Heralds attempted to stay on top of these, even if they aren’t at the event in question – following up to see who the Court Herald was, and making sure reports are done in a timely fashion.

Other than that, it’s been fairly quiet. Golem is anticipating a new ceremony or two for the Kingdom ceremony book in the near future, possibly before the meeting, as this report is being written the weekend before 12th Night.

As always, if you see issues on the website, the awards list, etc., please let Golem know, so that they can be addressed (if Golem isn’t told about a problem, he can’t fix it).
